One specific story that is vivid in my mind is when a teen girl showed up to my virtual workshop with a hoodie on and the screen facing only her forehead in a dark room. When it was time to share, I asked her ‘What are you grateful for today?’

Her response was ‘nothing.’ I tried to get her to see that maybe she could be grateful for her friends and her response was ‘I don’t have any friends. My only friend is my dog and she bites me.’ That broke my heart.

At that moment, I tweaked the script to fit her needs by talking about self-love instead. She continued attending my workshops and her transformation has been wonderful... She is using her voice to creating the life she wants…
